Directions On Using A Bissell Powersteamer Powerbrush

Bissell's PowerSteamer Powerbrush makes cleaning carpets easier.

Bissell designed the PowerSteamer Powerbrush to deep clean your carpet like a commercial carpet cleaner with the ease and affordability of a home appliance. Having only one water tank makes filling and emptying convenient, and Bissell created the two-in-one tank with a bladder for the clean water so it never mixes with the dirty water. The Select model in the 1623 series also comes with a hose and tools for upholstery cleaning. A separate attachment for cleaning hard floors is available directly from Bissell.

Instructions

Using the Machine

1. Push the handle lever on the back of the unit to release the main handle until the handle is laying on the floor. This step is not necessary for the Select models.

2. Move the tank handle to an upright position and lift up, removing the tank from the unit. Unlatch the tank's lid by moving the handle forward. Remove the lid and turn it upside down.

3. Locate the built-in measuring cup, which is on the lid, and fill it with formula, being sure not to exceed the fill line. Pour the measured formula into the tank's bladder.

4. Fill the bladder with hot water.

5. Replace the tank's lid and lock it in place by pulling the handle back to the upright position.

6. Place the tank back into the back of the machine. Pull the tank handle down to lock in place.

7. Pull the machine's main handle back up until it is locked in place. This step is not necessary for the Select models.

8. Plug the power cord into a grounded outlet and turn the power switch to the on position. The power switch is on the back of the unit. The Select model's power switch is a red foot pedal on the back of the unit.

9. Unlock the handle by pressing the handle release with your left foot.

10. Clean an area by slowly pushing the machine forward while pressing the spray trigger, which is in the handle. Slowly pull the machine backward while still squeezing the spray trigger.

11. Suction the same area dry by releasing the trigger and slowly moving the machine forward and backward.

12. Continue working over the same area until the formula being pulled into the machine appears to be clean. Be careful not to overwet the area.

13. Suction the area until you no longer see water coming into the tank.

14. Remove the tank from the machine and remove the lid from the tank. Empty the dirty water and rinse the tank.

15. Remove the lint screen from the tank lid, rinse and place it back in the lid.

16. Refill the bladder with measured formula and hot water, if you want to continue cleaning. When you are finished, rinse out the tank in hot water.

Using the Select Model's Upholstery Tools

17.Turn the ReadyTools dial to the TOOLS position and unwrap the hose from the unit.

18. Lock a cleaning tool into the end of the hose.

19. Spray formula onto the area by pressing the trigger. Move the tool back and forth while squeezing the trigger. The sliding crevice tool cleans when moving forward and suctions when pulled backward.

20. Release the trigger and move the tool back and forth to suction the dirty water.

21. Continue working over the same area until the formula being pulled into the machine appears to be clean. Be careful not to overwet the area.

22. Suction the area until you no longer see water coming into the tank.

23. Remove and rinse the tool after you are finished cleaning. Do not store it until it is dry.

24. Suction clean water from a bowl with the hose to clean it. Stretch it upward to drain all the water before storing.
