Flexible drain pipehose

Flexible Drain Pipe/Hose?

Hello, I need to replace the drain pipe for the kitchen sink and would like to use flexible drain hose/pipe. Has anyone done this and has recommendations for me? Thank you One question......why flexible? I've never done it and in my opinion I wouldn't recommend it. Two negatives come to mind: 1) A drain line must maintain a certain pitch to work correctly - a bit tricky with flex. 2) The corrugations in most flex lines will hold and trap the grease causing a premature buildup of crap. I know that, but there are some people out there who had it done. I may keep the old hard pipe system if it turns out that is really not a good idea with the flex one Do you have a glued up schedule 40 system. If so that may be what turned you off. If that is the case then I suggest you use slip fitting type drain parts. Exactly. How do you know? I tried to google slip fitting type drain parts. Do they have some other technical name? Thank you Flex pipes are not to code as far as I know in a residential setting. The flex traps are mainly used in an RV environment AFAIK.... Use the proper materials IMO and follow your local and state codes. A simple phone call to your local plumbing inspector will inform you. I tried to google slip fitting type drain parts. Do they have some other technical name? I suspect they do but I have never known it. I was hoping Larosa would supply that. Here's a picture to get you started. Image source: .keeneymfg.com Nope Ray, as far as I know its hard trap, LA trap, P trap.......Flex trap is not in the code as I see it. Type those three items in your browser and you will be enlightened.. So a hard drain is schedule 40 glued up and an LA is similar but comes apart and a Ptrap is tubing? So a hard drain is schedule 40 glued up and an LA is similar but comes apart and a Ptrap is tubing? Yes...... . I have never used one, but Fernco makes flexible traps (as well as tees, elbows, and other fittings). I suspect they do but I have never known it. I was hoping Larosa would supply that. Here's a picture to get you started. Image source: .keeneymfg.com Oh, that is what I am looking for for month. It is standard in Europe and I thought there were available here too, but can't find it. HP and the big box stores do not have it. Oh, that is what I am looking for for month. Are you looking for the trap that is in the picture??? That trap is for sale in every home store, hardware store, or plumbing supply in the country...... You are in Tenn' right? Yes I am in TN. This is a picture what we use in Germany. The whole pipe system cost 8.95 Euro which is about $12. Nothing is glued. Everything is screwed. I am looking for something like that. This is the U.S. You will not find anything like that in regards to those fittings. Like I said its not code to use a flex trap AFAIK... Best you will find is this, but like I said its used in RV use only. If you insist you probably can put something togther.... Check your local and state codes...................... DBHL 1-1/2 in.
