Pressure Assist Toilet Retrofit???
Why can't the flushmate or PF2 retrofit to my old gravity toilet??? Does anyone know of a pressure tank conversion kit that doesn't require replacing my whole toilet? I suspect the pressure toilets are reinforced in certain areas to take the additional pressure. If retrofits were a viable solution they would be available. Pressure-assist tanks cannot be retrofitted into existing toilets because they do require a specially designed pressure-assist bowl and will not function if installed in a gravity-type bowl. It's not a marketing ploy, it's hydrodynamics and the're no way around it. A pressure-assist bowl has a larger simplified trap-way with fewer bends (where the waste is evacuated), smaller raceways (where the rim-wash comes from), and the jet-hole (which forces the waste into the trap way) is of a smaller diameter and faces into the trap way. Gravity bowls have smaller trap ways with more bends, larger raceways, and the larger jet-hole, if there is one, is typically directed frontward, into the bowl itself.
