Hook up Koss surround sound for home theater.
Koss surround sound systems consist of a receiver with built-in DVD player, four satellite speakers, a center speaker and a powered subwoofer. The speakers connect with standard wires; add a TV and AV cables to set up a complete home theater system. The Koss receiver is equipped with labeled connection jacks on the back for simplified setup. Just follow the color codes to hook up the system in less than half an hour.
Instructions
1. Place the four satellite speakers in the room with two speakers flanking the TV and the other pair behind the main seating area. The center speaker can be set above or below the TV. Place the subwoofer on the floor anywhere where it won't be in the way.
2. Cut five lengths of speaker wire to connect the Koss receiver with the five speakers, then strip 1/2 inch of insulation from the ends.
3. Attach wires to each speaker by raising the spring clips on the back of the speaker and inserting a wire in each hole. The red wire connects to the positive terminal. The other wire connects to the negative.
4. Insert the plug on one end of the subwoofer cable that comes with the system into the jack on the back of the Koss sub, then plug the other end into the Sub Out jack on the back of the receiver.
5. Connect the color-coded plugs on the component cables to the red, green and blue Video Out jacks on the back of the Koss receiver, then insert the plugs on the other end to the matching Video In jacks on the back panel of the TV.
6. Plug the power cords for the Koss receiver, subwoofer and TV into the power strip, which can be plugged into a wall outlet.
