Immunocal Ingredients & Its Side Effects

Immunocal Ingredients Its Side Effects

Immunocal is a natural food supplement that can provide the body with protein. It is also a good source of amino acids. Minor side effects may occur so people with specific allergies and dietary needs should be careful when taking this product. Immunocal is generally considered a benign supplement for people with special nutritional problems

Natural

Immunocal, administered as a powder, consists of a whey protein isolate. The protein isolate is obtained from cow's milk and engineered to yield the most precursors to glutathione possible. Approximately 125 gallons of raw milk are used to create one pound of Immunocal. Though it is produced from milk it contains less than 1% lactose.

Protein

Each 10-gram package of Immunocal contains at least 90% protein. The proteins contain amino acids that the body needs. Proteins are necessary for overall nutritional health. They are important for generating muscle mass as well as other biological functions.

Amino Acids

Immunocal contains the precursors for the tripeptide glutathione, an important antioxidant that helps enhance immunity, is essential for cellular health and improves the body's metabolism. These precursors are amino acids: glycine, L-glutamate and L-cysteine. The presence of L-cysteine is important since it is hard to find in food. Branched chain amino acids, leucine, isoleucine and valine, are also present in Immunocal. These last are an important source of energy for the body.

Side Effects

Dehydration may cause stomach bloating and cramps. Drinking more fluids will usually alleviate this problem. A rash can occur in rare cases. Cease using the product to stop this problem.

Risks

People who suffer from allergies to milk proteins should be concerned about allergic reactions to Immunocal. If you are on a low-protein diet you should take into account the high-protein value of Immunocal when calculating your daily intake. It has also been suggested that Immunocal might help precancerous tissue in the same way it improves the health of normal tissue.
