Vitamins For Dry Skin

The saying "you are what you eat" is often times very true, especially when it comes to skin care. Have you ever suffered form chronic dry skin? Have you ever caked on gobs of moisturizer to find that no matter what you tried your skin was still dry? You could be suffering from a vitamin deficiency. When was the last time you took a multi-vitamin and washed it down with a couple pints of water?


Water


The FDA suggests that the average adult needs at least 2.5 liters a day. If you drink coffee or wine or live in a warm climate, you should drink more water.


Vitamin E


Vitamin E is something of a cure-all for skin problems, It's naturally hydrating and can be taken orally or topically.


Vitamin B


Vitamin B promotes cell growth. New cells are needed to repair and protect dry and damaged skin.


Vitamin A


Vitamin A is an essential vitamin for healthy vision and skin. If you notice that your eyes are dry as well as your skin you may be suffering from a vitamin A deficiency. Leafy green vegetables, fish, chicken and beef are all high in vitamin A.


Vitamin D


Ever hear the saying "get some sunlight, it's good for your skin"? Well that saying is true. Vitamin D is essential for healthy skin and it's found in sunlight and dairy products. It may seem like a bizarre combination, but it is good for your skin.
