Oranges are known as one of the best sources for vitamin C. But the citrus fruit also is a source of several other vitamins as well, including A, E and B vitamins.
Vitamin C
According to nutritiondata.com, a 1-cup serving of oranges has 160 percent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C.
Vitamin A
While not among the top foods for vitamin A, oranges do contain a healthy amount of the vitamin, about 405 IU, or 8 percent of the recommended daily allowance.
Vitamin E
Oranges also contain a small amount of vitamin E. A 1-cup serving has 0.3 mg of vitamin E, or about 2 percent of the recommended daily allowance.
B Vitamins
According to nutritiondata.com, oranges contain small amounts of other B vitamins, including vitamin B6, riboflavin (B2), niacin (B3), pantothenic acid (B5) and folate (B9).
Other Vitamins
Oranges do not contain vitamin B12, vitamin D or vitamin K.
Fun Fact
Despite their high vitamin C content, oranges are not the best source of the vitamin. Papayas, bell peppers, Brussels sprouts and broccoli all have a higher percentage of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C per serving than oranges, according to whfoods.com.
