The body needs certain vitamins to ensure best energy level and to maintain healthy skin. The following vitamin regimen supports healthy skin and energy production.


Fat Soluble and Water Soluble Vitamins


Vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble, which means they are stored in the body's fat. This increases risk of toxicity so care should be taken when supplementing with these vitamins. Vitamin C and the B Complex vitamins are water soluble; hence, are flushed from the body and pose no risk of toxicity.

Thiamin is needed for energy production and is found in legumes, nuts and lean meats. It is made by the body from tryptophan, an essential amino acid. Niacin may also be found in nuts, yeast, coffee, tea, lean meats, pork, tuna, veal and legumes. Pyrodoxine is needed to produce energy, and can be acquired through leafy greens, tuna, halibut and legumes. B12 is found in fish, eggs, dairy products, poultry and lean meats and is used in energy production. Folic acid and Pantothenic acid contribute to energy production and can be found in whole grains, legumes, fish, poultry and lean meats. Biotin is used to produce energy and is found in egg yolks, meat, liver, peanuts, milk, mushrooms, and most vegetables.
