Pineapple guava is one of several types of guava around the world.
Unless you're well-versed in exotic fruits from tropical countries, you may have never heard of the before. This native Brazilian fruit, part of the guava fruit family, is green and oval-shaped, with an edible, cream-colored flesh and a jellylike center. Also known by its Spanish name, feijoa, pineapple guava is often made into jams, syrups or chutney to spread onto a savory dish. This exotic fruit is also eaten fresh; just don't eat the skin, as it has a bitter taste to it.
Instructions
1. Place the pineapple guava on a clean cutting board.
2. Slice the pineapple guava in half with a sharp knife.
3. Scoop the pulp out of each half with a spoon and enjoy.
