Make Vitamin E Oil More Effective In Scar Removal

Vitamin E can help improve the apprearance of scars.

Vitamin E oil is a proven healer when it comes to preventing scarring and removing existing scars. If you have been applying vitamin E oil to an old scar for weeks with no improvement, you may be starting to doubt its efficacy. Fortunately, you can boost the effectiveness of vitamin E oil to get the most out of every application.

Instructions

1. Exfoliate the scarred area. You can do this as frequently as every three days. Use a gentle, exfoliating cleanser and warm -- not hot -- water. Use a loofah on the area if the skin is not delicate, but use a soft washcloth on the face, neck and chest areas. Removing dead skin cells gives the vitamin E better access to living cells that need repair.

2. Dry the area completely before applying vitamin E oil. Use a soft cloth, and pat the area dry rather than rubbing it.

3. Massage the vitamin E oil into the scarred area. You can do this twice daily, or even more frequently, but it works best on clean, bare skin. Use your fingertip to rub the oil into the scar until all of the oil is completely absorbed.

4. Take a daily vitamin E oil supplement. If you are only using vitamin E oil topically, you are only fighting the battle on one front. Taking a daily supplement will help heal your scar from within as well.
