Lose Upper Arm Fat

Use dumbbells to reduce upper arm flab.

Often, as you age, fat tends to gather in your upper arms. This extra flab can leave you feeling self conscious in sleeveless shirts or even T-shirts. With the right diet and arm exercises, you can beat back the fat and wear your cute clothing with confidence.

Instructions

1. Eat a healthy and balanced diet. The best way to lose any type of fat is by limiting your intake of undesirable foods. Prepare your own meals and do not eat out. Use healthy and fresh ingredients in your meals. Eat fruits and vegetables, whole grains and foods rich in fiber and protein.

2. Drink plenty of water. Water fills you up. Drink at least 64 ounces of water per day.

3. Purchase a set of 5-lb. weights and carry them when you walk. Walking is great exercise to burn fat, but by holding one weight in each hand, you increase the amount of force on your arms, which will help tone your upper arms.

4. Use your 5-lb. weights to do toning exercises. Start with arm curls. Hold the weight tightly in your hand. Lay your arm out straight. Slowly bring your hand up to your upper arm. Repeat several times. Remember, the key is to bring your arm up slowly to fully work all your muscles and prevent straining.

5. Do push-ups to burn upper arm fat. If you can't do a full push-up, try doing them from your knees. Be sure you are actually bending your arms to raise and lower your body, not just moving your back.

6. Do arm circles whenever you have a chance. For example, if you do 30 arm circles while you are waiting for dinner to cook, you will begin to see results. Try to fit in some arm circles during your free time throughout the day.
