Grow Hair Fast For Boys

Despite numerous folk remedies and hair products that allegedly make hair grow faster, according to the American Academy of Dermatology, boys' hair will grow no faster than one-half an inch a month. However, high stress and poor diet and hair care can stunt hair growth. Damage to the hair, such as breakage, can also make hair appear shorter. Here are some tips for ensuring maximum hair growth.

Instructions

Promoting hair growth

1. Eat a healthy diet. Eat foods such as peanut butter, wheat germ and eggs for inositol (vitamin B8), pantothenic acid (vitamin B7) and biotin (vitamin B5); meat and dairy for protein and B12; almonds, sunflowers and peanuts for vitamin E; potatoes, bananas and chicken breast for B6; and dark green and yellow fruits and vegetables for vitamins A and C. These vitamins can all contribute to the health of your hair.

2. Practice good hair care. Avoid shampoos and conditioners containing heavy detergents, as these can strip the cuticle of its natural oils and nutrients. Don't bleach or dye your hair, use straighteners or blow dryers, brush your hair while it is wet, or rub it with a towel. All of these things can cause breakage.

3. Reduce your stress level, exercise regularly and practice good sleeping habits. Regular exercise has an added benefit of reducing stress and promoting good sleep. Get at least seven to eight hours of sleep a night.

4. Keep your body healthy and free of toxins. Stop smoking or chewing tobacco and cut back on your caffeine intake.

5. Use a hair product containing taurine. According to a 2006 study published in the International Journal of Cosmetic Science, taurine promoted the growth and health of hair follicles and protected them against against damage.
