Send Packages To The California Correctional Center In Susanville California

The California Correctional Center in Susanville houses inmates in a minimum-security environment and prepares to send them to work with the California Department of Forestry. While mailing letters and non-pornographic photographs to an inmate at the facility is a relatively simple process, sending packages requires more planning. Due to concerns about drugs, weapons and other unauthorized items entering the facility, you can only send packages through approved vendors to the California Correctional Center.

Instructions

1. Write down your inmate friend or family member's California Department of Corrections identification number as well as his mailing address at the California Correctional Center before placing your order. If you do not have all of these details or suspect your incarcerated loved one was moved, call the state's inmate locator service at 916-445-6713. This line is only open during weekday business hours, and you must know the inmate's full name and date of birth to get the CDC number and location information. For additional questions, call the California Correctional Center at 530-257-2181.

2. Read the California Correctional Center's list of approved vendors (see References section below) or call the facility. Approved vendors include Access Securepak, Music by Mail and the Vitamin Outlet.

3. Visit the website of your preferred vendor and select items to send your loved one. Packages from these vendors can include food, coffee, tennis shoes, music CDs, vitamins, some types of clothing and paperback books.

4. Enter your inmate's full address information, your credit card number and your billing address when prompted to check out and finalize your order.
