Anti Wrinkle Treatments

Wrinkles are caused by a number of factors, but resisting aging means changing certain lifestyle habits. With natural anti-wrinkle treatments, it is important to prevent additional wrinkles and unnecessary aging by avoiding cigarettes, including second hand smoke, excessive consumption of alcohol and over exposure to the sun. Follow these guidelines and care for present wrinkles with natural, skin-repairing treatments.

Glycolic Acid

After cleansing the face, use a sugar scrub once a day. Sugar, white or brown, contains glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is commonly used by dermatologists to treat wrinkles by using a concentrated glycolic acid peel. This anti-aging ingredient goes below the surface of skin to repair damage and create youthful skin. Using sugar to exfoliate the skin treats wrinkles gradually with no side effects and maintains smooth ageless skin.

Vitamin C

Diane Irons, author of "911 Beauty Secrets: An emergency Guide to Looking Great at Every Age, Size and Budget," suggests dissolving a strong vitamin C tablet in 1/2 teaspoon of boiling water. Once it is cool, add it to your normal moisturizer. Vitamin C applied topically prevents oxidation of tissue which is the direct cause of wrinkles.

Flaxseed Oil

Use flaxseed oil as a spot treatment for fine lines and deep wrinkles. Flaxseed oil increases circulation and encourages blood flow to the site. This supports new skin cell growth. The best way to treat wrinkles with flaxseed oil is to buy the capsule form from the store and puncture one to obtain the oil.

Olive Oil and Vitamin E Oil

Create an intensive night treatment consisting of 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil. This is an extremely potent anti-wrinkle treatment that should be applied to the face and neck before bed. Olive oil is an excellent and anciently used moisturizer while vitamin E oil repairs skin damage and encourages cell regeneration. Vitamin E is also a powerful antioxidant that protects skin from wrinkle-causing free radicals.

Avocado

Avocados are one of the most important anti-aging fruits made available by Mother Nature. Janice Cox, author of "Natural Beauty at Home," says that avocados contain the most protein of any other fruit and are full of skin-softening natural oils. Avocados are also rich in vitamin A and B which are vital for youthful and healthy skin. Mash 2 tablespoons of avocado and spread over the face as an anti-wrinkle treatment mask. Rinse after 15 minutes to reveal younger and smoother skin.

Banana and Honey

Mash 1/4 of a banana and mix enough honey, about 1 tablespoon, to make a thick pulp-like substance. Apply to face for 20 minutes and rinse with warm water. Bananas and honey both contain potassium which naturally kills bacteria and removes impurities from the pores. Bananas are high in vitamin A, crucial for youthful skin, and honey fades discoloration caused by skin aging.

Aloe

An aloe juice toner can be used as an anti-wrinkle treatment. Applying aloe juice to the face once a day with a cotton ball or with a light misting spray bottle will treat and prevent wrinkles. Aloe is a skin-repairing agent that goes to work to heal and prevent sun damage, the primary cause of wrinkles.
