Make Orange Blossom Face Cream

Make Orange Blossom Face Cream

Orange blossom face cream is a simple, homemade face cream that is ideal for adding moisture to dry skin. It is particularly useful in the fall and winter months when high winds and low temperatures sap moisture from the skin. Making your own cosmetics products has other benefits, too. Homemade cosmetics tend to cost much less than expensive store-bought products. They also do not contain unnecessary and potentially dangerous additives and preservatives. Orange blossom face cream will keep for about two months.

Instructions

1. Pour 2/3 cup of cold pressed sesame oil and 1/3 cup raw coconut oil into the top of a double boiler.

2. Add 1 tsp. of cocoa butter, 1 tsp. of shea butter, 1 tbsp. of beeswax and 3 tbsp. of dried calendula. Heat until the beeswax is melted, about two to three minutes.

3. Pour the mixture into a blender cup. Let cool for one hour at room temperature. Blend for 30 seconds.

4. Add 1/3 cup of orange flower water, 1/3 cup of distilled water, 1/3 cup of aloe vera gel, 20 drops of vitamin E oil and 10 drops of orange essential oil to the blender with the motor running. Process on high speed for about one minute.

5. Pour the final mixture in a sterilized wide-mouth glass jar with a tight-fitting lid. Store the jar in a cool, dry place.
