Control Oily Skin With Vitamin A

Fight oily skin with vitamin A found in tomatoes.

Oily skin can be difficult to overcome. This skin type is prone to blemishes and breakouts. However, slathering your face in overly drying acne creams can cause more harm than benefit. Control your oily skin with vitamin A to regulate the excretion of sebum while also locking moisture into your skin. Fresh tomatoes are excellent sources of vitamin A and can be used to whip up a sensational oil-busting face mask at home.

Instructions

Tomato Face Mask

1. Bring 1 quart of water to a rapid boil in a large pot. Turn off the heat. Gently place the whole tomatoes into the pot to loosen the skins. Leave the tomatoes in the hot water for 10 minutes. Drain in a colander.

2. Place the tomatoes in an ice bath to cool quickly for one minute. Peel off the skins with your fingers. Cut the tomatoes in half and remove the seeds. Puree in a blender.

3. Transfer the pureed tomatoes into a small bowl. Add 1/4 tsp. of lemon juice and 1 tsp. of honey.

4. Use a small makeup brush to apply a thin layer of the mask to your face and neck area. Allow the mask to dry for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and pat dry with a clean towel.

5. Store the unused portion in the refrigerator for up to a week. Repeat the mask every three to four days to control oil.
