Travel With Vitamins

Solid vitamins are subject to more lenient rules compared to liquids and gels.

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has instituted stricter rules regarding airport security. Airport security staff could seize your vitamins at security checkpoints if you pack them in a manner inconsistent with security regulations. The solution is as easy as packing smart by placing your vitamins in approved containers.

Instructions

1. Place as much of your liquid and gel vitamins in your checked luggage as you can, and do this for all other liquids and gels you travel with--for example, toiletries and hair styling products. There is no limit for liquids and gels in the checked luggage.

2. Transfer any liquids and gels you have remaining into 3.4-ounce or smaller TSA-approved containers.

3. Place the containers in one clear, quart-size, plastic, zip-top bag. If you still have any liquids or gels remaining, you can't bring them with you.

4. Place solid vitamins in your checked baggage or carry-on baggage. If possible, leave them in their original containers with the manufacturers' labels intact; this speeds up the screening process, but is not required.

5. Place the zip-top bag in an easily accessible compartment in your carry-on bag.

6. Declare that you have liquids or gels to security officers at the security checkpoint.

7. Take the zip-top bag out of your carry-on bag when you reach X-ray screening point. Place in a bin or on the conveyor belt so security officers can easily examine the items.
