Beauty Tips On Make Hair Grow Longer & Faster

Grow hair longer and faster

Healthy hair comes from the inside out, not always from expensive products you buy from the local salon. Maintaining a nutritious diet, taking vitamins, getting regular trims and staying hydrated will do more to produce healthy, long locks than shelling out hundreds of dollars on beauty supplies that do not do what they promise.

How Fast Hair Grows Naturally

Hair grows approximately one-quarter of an inch to half an inch per month and six inches per year. In the summer hair may grow faster as the heat can stimulate growth. Although products on the market claim to make hair grow faster, the truth is hair grows almost the same for everyone. However, taking care of your hair and yourself will make for a healthier head of hair that will seem to grow longer in less time.

Take a Multivitamin

Look for vitamins such as biotin and vitamin D. These will strengthen hair so it will not become so dry and brittle. Having enough of these in the diet will keep hair long by avoiding breakage. Also, take vitamin C tablets. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that combats hair loss. A diet low in vitamin C results in dry, brittle hair; so for thicker, longer locks take an extra dose of it every day.

Get Regular Trims

Although this may seem counterintuitive to growing longer hair, it is necessary to remove the damage found at the ends of hair. If you do not remove this, hair will continue to split and break all the way to the root. So get rid of it right away. This involves a trim every six to eight weeks. Ask your stylist to cut off just half an inch so hair will still grow longer than what you are cutting off (i.e., if hair grows one inch every two months, cutting off half an inch will still allow for hair growth).

Caution with Wet Hair

Wet hair is extremely fragile. Do not brush it, but instead use a wide-tooth comb whenever handling wet hair. Also, do not use hot hair dryers. Allow your hair to air dry for as long as possible. When your hair is close to being dry, if you must, use a hair dryer. This will allow your hair to stay as healthy as possible so you can grow longer locks without the damage of brushing it or applying heat.

Use Heat Styling Products Sparingly

Hair straighteners, curling irons and hot rollers will only damage hair further, forcing you cut it off. If you do not want to end up with brittle hair and split ends, use these as little as possible and apply a mousse or other product first to protect the hair from direct heat.
