Increase Mind Power







Stress, lack of sleep, a poor diet and many other factors can leave you frazzled and feeling like you're not able to think clearly anymore. Most people can't compete with Albert Einstein in the IQ department, but there are simple ways to increase mind power and think more clearly.


Instructions


1. Exercise regularly. Walking is a great choice because it's a simple, low intensity exercise that immediately boosts brain power and allows you to think clearly.


2. Take a daily multivitamin that contains vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, folic acid, selenium and alpha-lipoic acid. These vitamins and minerals help improve memory and boost your mood.








3. Eat a low-fat, healthy and well-balanced diet. Fish, nuts, olive oil, dairy products, lean meat and green, leafy vegetables are all considered brain foods.


4. Organize your surroundings. By getting rid of the clutter and organizing your personal space, you are also clearing your mind. If you look around and see clutter, your brain gets overwhelmed and doesn't work to its maximum potential.


5. Practice brain exercise activities. Puzzles, speed reading and writing are fun ways to exercise your brain and keep it sharp.


6. Take time to relax when your mind is feeling foggy. One way to do this is through meditation, a relaxation technique that clears your mind and allows you to concentrate harder on other mental tasks once you're finished.


7. Perform deep breathing exercises by taking 10 long, deep breaths, clearing your mind as you breathe in and out. This increases the oxygen flow to your brain, giving you an instant boost in mind power.


8. Get a good night's sleep every night. Eight hours of sleep is recommended, but make sure you get at least five hours of uninterrupted sleep. Keep your room temperature comfortable and invest in a good quality mattress. During the day, power naps can give you a quick surge of brain power.


9. Use herbal supplements such as Ginkgo biloba and Saint John's wort. Ginkgo biloba increases blood flow to the brain, while Saint John's Wort boosts your mood. People usually think more clearly when they're happy.
