Getting an Rx loyalty card can help you save money on your prescriptions.
In response to the rising costs of prescription medications, many drugstores have followed the path of grocery stores in providing a loyalty card program for purchases made in their store. Members of the loyalty program receive varying benefits depending on the store, ranging from points for future discounts, to special pricing on in-store items and prescriptions, to member-only coupons.
Instructions
1. Visit several drug stores and inquire about customer loyalty plans. Collect brochures with information about the cost, if any, and the benefits you can expect to receive. Compare the different plans and determine which best suits your needs, depending on your shopping habits and prescription drug use.
2. Sign up for the loyalty Rx program while in the pharmacy. Fill out the application and turn it back in. Most pharmacies will issue a temporary loyalty card so that you can begin saving right away.
3. Sign-up for an Rx loyalty card online. Many major pharmacy chains allow you to sign up for their loyalty card by visiting their website and signing up. Fill out the registration form with the basic information requested, which will typically include your name, address, phone number, email address, and in some cases a user name and password that you can use to access and change your loyalty account online. The card will arrive at your address within a few weeks of submitting your application.
