Vitamins That Combat Stress Fatigue & Mood Swings

Treatments for fatigue, mood swings and stress range from therapy to anti-anxiety medicines. However, there are many vitamins available in supplement forms that help treat fatigue, mood swings and stress. Understanding what they are can help you treat your problems naturally.

Vitamin A

Vitamin A is an important vitamin as it helps protect the body against pathogens. It can also help treat chronic fatigue and mood swings. It does this in many ways. Vitamin A is an important vitamin in the production of red blood cells. It is therefore useful against fatigue caused by anemia. However, it also helps avoid fatigue by strengthening the immune system. A body that can fight diseases effectively is a body that doesn't get sick as often, avoiding the fatigue and mood swings that can come from even a minor cold. Vitamin A has to be taken in careful doses. It is fat soluble, which means that excess amounts of vitamin A will be stored in your body. Overdoses can cause headaches and minor liver damage. Take only 20,000 international units a day.

Vitamin B Complex

Some of the most important vitamins for treating stress, fatigue and mood swings are the B vitamins. These help the body metabolize and keep the chemistry in the brain stable. This helps regulate the level of energy in the body. When the level of energy dips in the body, it can result in fatigue, stress and mood swings. Unlike vitamin A, all vitamin B factors are water soluble. This means they can leave the body easily via urine. B vitamins such as folic acid, pyridoxine, and vitamin B12 feed the red blood cells that provide our body with oxygen. Lack of these vitamins means fewer red blood cells. This leads to less oxygen being distributed throughout the body, which leads to energy drops. Vitamin B6 relieves mood swings and fatigue.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is another important vitamin for treating fatigue, stress and mood swings. Vitamin C helps support the immune system by stimulating the production of interferon. Interferon is a chemical that prevents the spread of viruses in the body. Vitamin C is also necessary for the production of white blood cells. White blood cells are the first line of defense against any infection. Fatigue, stress and mood swings are often caused by illness, and vitamin C helps support the system that will eliminate these problems. Vitamin C also helps produce hormones in the adrenal glands. Adrenal glands help regulate stress. Vitamin C is water soluble, so it will leave the body fairly quickly once ingested. This is why it is important to take vitamin C on a regular basis.
