What Are The Treatments For Face Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a condition in which skin cells grow too fast. This then results in red patches that can become inflamed, itchy, red and scaly. When psoriasis takes place on the face, there are various treatments available.

Sunlight

Short, daily bouts of sun exposure can help alleviate irritation and scaling. This is due to the sun's UV rays.

Moisturizers

Ointment-based moisturizers can be used to reduce itching, irritation and scales.

Steroids

Mild steroids in the form of an ointment can be used. These are called corticosteroids.

Vitamin D

Dovonex is a vitamin D analogue that can be used through a prescription. It helps to keep the skin cells from growing too fast.

Plaque

Tazorac comes in the form of a gel or cream, and is used to reduce plaque from psoriasis and also to slow down cell growth (see Resources).
