Awesome Graduation Party Ideas

Throw a hard-working student a graduation party.

A graduation party is a great way to honor students for their achievements, whether for passing through middle school or beauty school. The harder your graduate worked to succeed, the harder he should play at his party! Plan carefully, and you'll throw a graduation party worth more than a passing grade.

Signatures

Gathering signatures in the pages of a yearbook is a time-honored graduation tradition, from grade school all the way up to college. Follow up on this idea with a signature session at your graduate's party. Hand out white T-shirts and markers to all of the graduates at the party. This way everyone can sign each other's T-shirt with a personalized message. Guests will walk away with a memento that they can enjoy and wear at their next stop in life.

Music

If you want to play some music at your graduate's party, skip "Pomp and Circumstance"--your guests will have heard it enough already. Play some fun, feel-good songs about school and growing up, like Willie Nelson's "Old Friends" or "We Go Together" from the "Grease" soundtrack. Play songs about school, like Vitamin C's "Graduation (Friends Forever)" or Alice Cooper's "School's Out." A good selection of songs will encourage the graduates and guests to sing and dance along one last time before heading off to college and work.

Joint Party

Many graduates end up throwing parties on the same day, making it hard or sometimes impossible for everyone to attend each other's parties. Instead, throw a joint birthday party with other graduates and their families. Organize the party with as many classmates as possible, making sure you'll have enough space and food for all the families in attendance. This way, graduates will be able to attend everyone's party and you'll save money by splitting the costs. It will also be more fun organizing one last hurrah with other families.
