Hormone Replacement Therapy Vitamins

If you are taking hormones for hormone replacement therapy, or HRT, there are a few vitamins that you should consider taking. Hormone replacement therapy can deplete certain vitamins, so supplementing these vitamins either through food or through vitamin supplements is important to the proper functioning of your system. Here are a few vitamins that should be supplemented while on hormone replacement therapy:

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 can become depleted while on HRT, and can be replaced by taking a supplemental vitamin or by eating bananas or chicken.

Magnesium

HRT can cause a magnesium deficiency, which can be supplemented using a vitamin or by eating pumpkin seeds or spinach.

Zinc

Zinc levels can decrease as a result of HRT therapy, and can be supplemented with a vitamin or by eating beef or green peas.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C can become depleted and can be replaced with a vitamin supplement or by eating citrus fruits or berries.

Folic Acid

Folic acid can diminish as a result of HRT therapy and can be supplemented with a vitamin or by eating pasta or lentils.
