Wrap Your Stomach With Plastic Wrap

A stomach wrap can help take inches off your waist.

If you have a special event coming up and want to lose several inches off your stomach, you can apply a stomach wrap. Beauty spas and salons offer a wide variety of body wraps, ranging from detoxing clay wraps to herbal and mineral wraps. Instead of paying to have your stomach wrapped, you can make your own homemade wrap. The wrapping method described below will result in inches lost from water. These results are temporary.

Instructions

1. Measure your waist circumference. Locate the top of your hip bones and place a measuring tape around your waist at this height. Write down how many inches your waist measures.

2. Take a warm shower to open up the pores on your stomach. Dry your body with a towel.

3. Drink water before applying your wrap -- to promote flushing of toxins from the body -- and also drink water while you are wearing the wrap to avoid dehydration.

4. Spread a thin layer of Preparation H over your stomach. According to the Newsweek website, phenylephrine, the active ingredient in hemorrhoid ointments, constricts blood vessels making excess water leave the skin.

5. Wrap plastic cling-wrap around your waist, over the area of your stomach that you covered in Preparation H. Avoid wrapping the plastic too tight -- because you don't want to restrict circulation. Plastic wrap will create a thermal effect, that causes your stomach to perspire.

6. Wear the wrap overnight, so it can work while you are sleeping.

7. Remove the wrap upon waking up and take a shower to help remove any Preparation H residue. Your stomach should be smoother and tighter. Measure the circumference of your waist to see how many inches you have lost.
