Make A Cucumber Vitamin Facial Mask

Make a Cucumber Vitamin Facial Mask

While the fact that eating lots of vitamins and minerals helps to keep the body young and healthy is well known, the science of treating skin with vitamins is quickly growing with discoveries about topical applications of natural acids, antioxidants and vitamins. Now you can try your own spa-quality vitamin facial mask in the comfort of your own home.

Instructions

1. Measure 1/2 cup of green clay powder into a small mixing bowl. Add 1/4 cup of aloe vera juice and stir to create a thick paste. Remember that aloe vera juice is very different from aloe vera gel. If you choose to use gel, use 1/8 of a cup of gel mixed with 1/8 of a cup of distilled water; however, juice is a far better option for this facial.

2. Stir 3 tsp. of cucumber hydrosol, 1 tsp. of vegetable glycerin, 1 tsp. of vitamin E oil, 1/2 tsp. of ascorbyl palmitate, (also known as vitamin C esters,) and 1/2 tsp. of niacinamide, or vitamin B3 into the clay paste.

3. Mix the ingredients thoroughly to create a thick, even paste. Wash your face with a mild facial cleanser and lukewarm water and pat your skin dry. Apply the facial mask evenly to your face and neck and leave until completely dry.

4. Rinse your mask with lukewarm water and then apply a light oil-free facial moisturizer. If you have mask left over, it will keep in the coldest part of your refrigerator for about 1 week.
