Liver Flush Home Remedies

The liver is responsible for removing toxins from the body and regenerating cells that have been damaged by toxins. A liver flush is a home remedy that cleanses the liver of fat-soluble toxins stored there and helps the liver to continue functioning properly in the elimination of toxins.

What to Expect During a Liver Flush

Before beginning a liver flush, consult your doctor. A liver flush may not be safe for those who have gallstones because the oils being flushed from the liver cause the gallbladder to contract and may cause the gallstone to become lodged in the gallbladder's opening, the bile duct. While gallstones usually form in the gallbladder, they can form anywhere there is bile.

Minor side effects of a liver flush include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.
