What Vitamins Reduce Sweating

Man Sweating

Sweating, or perspiration, is how the human body cools down and regulates its temperature. Toxins and other bodily fluids are also excreted through sweat. Water is needed to replace fluids lost through sweating. This is why it is so important to drink extra water on a hot day or during a workout. If fluids are not replaced, dehydration can quickly set in. However, excessive sweating can be an embarrassing problem for some people. When the body perspires too much this can cause other problems such as loss of fluids too quickly, severe acne, difficultly sleeping and fatigue. Fortunately, there are certain vitamins that can help reduce sweating.

B-Vitamins

All the essential B vitamins, such as B12, B6, B5 and folic acid, help to reduce perspiration. B vitamins reduce sweating because they help the body get rid of waste in the blood and excrete toxins through the urine. People who are very toxic tend to sweat a lot because the body is trying to remove toxins through the skin. However, when the internal system is functioning properly a person will naturally sweat less often. Drinking water, eating a healthy diet, and taking B vitamins can help reduce the toxic load on the system. B vitamins can be taken in supplement form or they can be found in various foods such as bananas, eggs, nuts and green vegetables.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is an amazing vitamin for so many reasons. First of all, vitamin C boosts the immune system, making it easier to fight infections and viruses. Vitamin C also helps to detoxify the body. Toxins are pushed out through elimination channels. When toxins are being excreted as they should, the body is going to sweat less often. Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits, green peppers and cereals. You can also take this vitamin in supplement form. For noticeable results take 500 mg or more of vitamin C daily.

Calcium and Magnesium

When calcium and magnesium are taken together both of these vitamins can help reduce sweating. A lack of magnesium in the diet has been shown to cause body odor and excessive sweating. However, magnesium needs proper amounts of calcium in order to be absorbed effectively by the body. Calcium and magnesium should be taken together for best results. Calcium can also be found in milk and carrots, and magnesium is found in many green vegetables, fish and eggs.

Zinc

A zinc deficiency can lead to problems such as bad breath, body odor and severe acne. Zinc helps to help the metabolism. Take 50 mg of zinc daily along with a whole food multi-vitamin and mineral supplement.
