Vitamins For Adhd

Vitamins for ADHD

Many people who suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) would rather not turn to stimulant medications to manage their symptoms. Instead, they wonder whether they can manage their symptoms through natural means, such as taking vitamins for their ADHD. Several vitamins have been identified as being helpful in controlling ADHD.

Omega 3

Omega 3 supplements are the most important vitamins to take for ADHD. Studies have shown that Omega 3 supplements can effectively treat ADHD symptoms because they enhance brain function and positively affect the electrical signals within the brain.

B-Complex Vitamins

B-complex vitamins include the following vitamins that are all taken together: B12, Biotin, Folic acid, Niacin or B3, Pantothenic acid or B5, Pyridoxine or B6, Riboflavin or B2, and Thiamin or B1. These vitamins help with brain function.

Calcium

Calcium supplements are believed to have a calming effect on a person with ADHD.

Magnesium

Like calcium, magnesium supplements are also believed to have a calming effect on a person with ADHD.

Zinc

Children with ADHD often suffer from a zinc deficiency, so taking zinc supplements might help with ADHD symptoms. Zinc helps regulate dopamine signaling in the brain.
