Make Liquid Iron Supplements Taste Better

Liquid iron supplements can be incorporated into your diet for a variety of reasons, such as a case of anemia or as an extra iron boost for a vegetarian diet. The taste of liquid iron supplements can be off-putting to some and can make it harder to take, especially for small children who need iron supplements. Luckily, there are easy remedies for the taste of liquid iron that can make taking these supplements a little more tasty.








Instructions


1. Plan to take your liquid iron supplement 30 minutes before your next meal. Taking it without food in your stomach will help your body take in the most from the iron. Also plan to not take any other medication for two hours following taking the iron supplement.


2. Measure out the amount of liquid iron to be taken in a small cup. Pour a cup of orange juice in with your liquid iron and stir the two together thoroughly for 20 seconds.


3. Drink your orange juice and liquid iron mixture quickly. Make sure to finish it within five minutes after mixing in order to avoid the two liquids separating. Should they separate, the supplement's flavor will be much stronger.
