Having the flu is something we have all suffered. A healthy diet, aided with supplements, can go a long way in preventing the flu. Look at your current supplements and consider changing your routine in an attempt to stay healthy during flu season.
Instructions
1. Take a multi-vitamin. Although you may strive to get all your vitamins and minerals through your diet, unfortunately, we often fall short.
2. Boost your immune system. During cold and flu season, you can take additional vitamins and minerals to strengthen your immune system. Vitamin C, zinc and echinacea will help boost your immune system.
3. Consider taking probiotics. Studies have shown that these friendly bacteria help the digestive tract, but also are good for the immune system. They are now available in many yogurts.
4. Think about taking grapefruit seed, ginger, cinnamon and clove, which are all proven to help with cold and flu symptoms. Oregano and olive leaf oil are also beneficial.
5. Get a flu shot. This may be one of the best steps to prevent the flu. Each year, the flu shots are formulated for specific strains of the flu virus. Getting a flu shot reduces your chance of contracting the flu.
6. Get enough exercise and rest. Nothing helps you fight the flu better than a healthy body.
