Vitamin E For Dry Skin And Hair







Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin that is a good moisturizer for dry skin and dry hair. The vitamin provides other benefits as well. Vitamin E is an antioxidant. This substance protects the body from the damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin E is available as a food source, supplement and as an oil. Natural and synthetic vitamin E is sold in health food stores but the natural form is twice as effective.


Moisturizer


Using vitamin E oil as a moisturizer will reduce dryness without the harmful chemicals found in some commercial face creams.


Scars


Applying vitamin E to scars can reduce their appearance or eliminate them if the oil is used as the wound starts to heal.


Acne


While acne usually forms on oily skin, there is such a thing as dry acne. If the face is irritated in any way, acne can form. Applying vitamin E oil prevents breakouts and lubricates the dry skin as well.


Shampoo


There are shampoos formulated for dry hair that contain vitamin E. This vitamin softens the hair and its antioxidant properties protect the hair from damage due to oxidation.


Conditioner


Some conditioners for dry hair contain vitamin E oil. You can also massage natural vitamin E oil into your hair to reduce breakage and split ends caused by dryness.
