Make Lotion Silky

Create a silkier lotion for your skin.

Lotion is intended to moisturize and nourish dry or sensitive skin. However, many store bought lotions just aren't moisturizing enough -- or don't contain the right ingredients to add moisture to the skin. Thankfully, you can modify plain lotion by adding additional ingredients to make it silky, and to leave your skin feeling softer and smoother than it was before.

Instructions

1. Purchase a 4 ounce jar of plain lotion, a jar of vitamin E capsules and a plastic mixing stick. Purchase an airtight glass container that will hold the new lotion mix: It should be 4 ounces or more.

2. Pour the lotion into the new glass container. Use the mixing stick to help get all the lotion out. Carefully poke holes in 6 vitamin E capsules with a sewing needle. Do this over the new container of lotion, to avoid losing any of the vitamin E.

3. Squeeze the capsules, pouring the vitamin E into the lotion. Mix the lotion and the vitamin E together until smooth, and completely mixed.

4. Seal the new lotion mix, and store for later use.
