Boost Your Energy When You Are Over 50

Boost Your Energy When You Are Over 50

Once you reach the age of 50 and beyond, it becomes more difficult to find the energy to do normal everyday tasks. Due to the naturally regressing hormones in your body, unfortunately there is nothing you can do to stop nature. There are, however, a number of different ways you can increase your energy through different lifestyle and diet choices.

Instructions

1. Walk at least 10 minutes every day. Walk outside if possible, as the combination of exercise and fresh air is especially invigorating, but walking anywhere will do.

2. Stretch gently throughout the day to increase circulation to your extremities and to keep your muscles loose and mobile. Stretching will also prevent muscles from cramping and causing pain.

3. Practice deep breathing techniques. Sit down and inhale slowly for four seconds. Slowly exhale for four seconds through your nose and mouth. Repeat five to ten times, as often as necessary.

4. Drink an herbal supplement at some point during the day. The best supplements for increasing energy include sarsaparilla, ginseng, astragalus and licorice.

5. Eat smart. Make a lunch that includes protein, fat and non-starchy vegetables. Some examples include a cooked chicken breast, stirfry, roast beef, turkey and a green salad. A lunch with these ingredients will give you energy for the rest of the day.
